Endangered Language Alliance
Founded in 2010, the Endangered Language Alliance (ELA) is a non-profit dedicated to documenting and supporting linguistic diversity and endangered languages in New York City and beyond. ELA’s works with a network of researchers, activists, and students documents the speech, stories, and songs of immigrant, refugee, and diaspora communities.
Rising Voices: Eddie Avila
Rising Voices helps provide support through:
microgrant funding and mentoring
network-building with a special focus on indigenous language digital activism
the sharing of citizen media-related resources
specific training projects in underrepresented and marginalized communities
Subhashish Panigrahi
Documentary filmmaker and an interdisciplinary multimedia researcher. Works across community, culture and digital rights of marginalized groups.
Endangered Languages Fund
ELF is a 501(c)3 founded in 1996 with the goal of supporting endangered language preservation and documentation projects. ELF’s main mechanism for supporting work on endangered languages has been funding grants to individuals, tribes, and museums.

Whose Knowledge is a global campaign to center the knowledge of marginalized communities (the majority of the world) on the internet.
